Project Lead
in developing and executing global regulatory submission strategies for orphan drugs and other complex biologic medicines, to increase the access of patients to life-saving medical treatments around the world. His attention to detail, strategic vision, leadership, and collaborative approach to project management have distinguished him throughout his career. One of his passions is culturally-appropriate and audience-centric scientific communication, especially as it relates to health care and wellness topics. His work is motivated by the aspiration to decrease health disparities and increase health literacy, especially in vulnerable and under-served populations. He obtained a Master’s in Biochemistry from MIT, supported in part by a Ford Fellowship, and holds a Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC-US) from RAPS since 2011.

She has been principal investigator, co-investigator and consultant to numerous studies on the delivery of health care services funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Robert Wood-Johnson Foundation, among others. Dr. Cortés received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico, and a Doctorate degree in Sociology from Fordham University. She also completed post-doctoral training in Medical Anthropology at Harvard Medical School’s Department of Social Medicine.
